After dinner, I could feel the tension coming off my mate in waves. While everyone else started cleaning up, I led Otis into the play room, where we could get a few minutes alone. He looked even more nervous as his eyes darted around the room. He’d been in there before, but it was the first night we met with my other friends. Maybe this wasn’t the place to have the claiming ceremony.

“Talk to me, baby,” I said gently as I ran my hands up and down his arms. “What’s going on in that sexy head of yours? Do you want to wait? We don’t have to do this tonight. We can take all the time you need, Otis.”

“I am not a fan of blood,” he blurted out. Well, that wasn’t one I’d been ready for. Of all the possible responses I was mentally prepping myself to handle…that wasn’t one of them.

And it confused me slightly as well. “You like when I bite you though.”

“Yes, but you said it was a blood exchange, and I do not mean to upset you. The idea of ingesting your blood is making me queasy.” He did look a little green around the gills.

“Oh, sweetie,” I sighed with relief and hugged him to me. “I promise you my blood won’t taste like icky, coppery blood. It will be more like a thick, sweet wine you’ll love.”

“It’s true,” Bren said from behind us. We turned to look at him and realized we weren’t alone. Everyone was there. “Horse tasted like cherry syrup. Not something I’d want all the time or crave, but it wasn’t scary.”

“So you’re okay with this?” I asked hesitantly.

“Yes, let us be bonded.” I stood on my toes and brushed his mouth with mine.

“All you have to do is repeat what Horse says and drink from me when the time is right.”

“I am ready.” And with that, I led him over to one of the comfy tables that had padding. We needed witnesses for what we were about to do, but given Otis’s past, I didn’t want to make it too kinky or restrain him.

We slowly undressed each other, ignoring everyone watching and reveling in the moment. When we were naked, I gently laid him down and stretched him magically.

“I love you, Flower.”

“I love you, too, baby.” I moved between his legs and slowly worked my leaking cock inside of him. We’d long since had the conversation about condoms and that we didn’t need them.
